The Scottsdale Charros - Scottsdale's Goodwill Ambassadors provide generous support to the Horsense program. The Scottsdale Charros have a longstanding history of community service and a commitment to education in Scottsdale - that continues with their support of the Horsense program through their First Pitch Event and participation as volunteers at camp.
Health World is a not for profit 501 C-3, locally-based organization that champions children's safety and health by fighting against preventable causes that lead to their premature death, disabling injury/disease and diminished quality of life. Health World has established outreach programs and collaborates with school districts, law enforcement agencies, healthcare groups, and the local corporations.
For the Horsense program, Health World provides administration of the camps and the educators for the Life Skills classes. Students will learn to make better choices with classes on first aid, team building and drug/tobacco prevention. SCOTTSDALE MOUNTED POLICE
The officers, under the direction of Sargent Ponder from the Scottsdale Mounted Police Unit, have participated in our graduation ceremony as color guards. In addition, they have entertained and educated campers on public safety with a demonstration of the abilities of their skilled equine and human officers.
SCOTTSDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Scottsdale Fire Department provides educational classes on desert safety and survival skills to our campers.
PHOENIX HERPETOLOGICAL SOCIETY
The Phoenix Herpetological Society provides an educational hands-on experience with a variety of native desert critters.
LIBERTY WILDLIFE
Liberty Wildlife provides an educational hands-on experience with a variety of birds from the region.
SUN DEVIL TROPHY
Sun Devil Trophy provides the plaques presented to campers at graduation. A lasting treasured memento for our campers.
D.R. HORTON
D.R. Norton (formerly Continental Homes) donated a 45 foot long trailer that is used as the Horsense Camp Office & Learning Center. All of our campers and volunteers enjoy the amenities of the Horsense Learning Center-indoor facilities!
KELLER EQUIPMENT
Keller Equipment donated and installed the electrical hook-up to our campsite at MacDonald's Ranch. In addition, an authentic covered wagon was donated, adding to the old west feel of our campsite. Our campers love it!
CURRIER CONSTRUCTION
Currier Construction assisted with the electrical and water installation, and has also provided financial support.
SUNSTATE EQUIPMENT
Sunstate Equipment provided heavy duty equipment for all of our camp improvements, and provides financial support.
AL DUNNING / BARBARA HANES
Al Dunning, 48-time World Equestrian Champion and World Class trainer, and Barbara Hanes, Lead Horses Instructor, Scottsdale developed our equine training program. Al and Barbara developed the equine activities in which our campers will participate. The main goal of this program is to provide a basic foundation on horseback riding, while teaching children about respect, responsibility, and the development of leadership skills and good character.
AR MAYS CONSTRUCTION
AR Mays Construction donated the materials and labor to repair the front deck of our Horsense Camp Office & Learning Center.
